Reelfoot Lake Tennessee

Garry Mason with a Reelfoot Crappie

Reelfoot Lake Tennessee-Winds whipped around our cabin door as we rolled out of our beds. It was still dark which added to the morning’s chill. We dashed to the restaurant to escape the cold and to warm ourselves with coffee. Fellow anglers greeted us with a “Good morning!” as we made our way to the buffet line. Just like last night’s dinner, the food was wonderful. Another fine day begins at Blue Bank Resort.

Blue Bank Resort sits on the south end of the “Blue Basin” part of the lake. Their motel is modern and features all of the amenities you would find in a Holiday Inn Express for example. There is even a hot tub next to the pool. The food and service in their restaurant is wonderful.

You are welcome to bring your own boat or you can rent a sturdy War-Eagle boat in their marina. Reelfoot Lake is full of stumps so renting one is highly recommended. Those very stumps help make fishing so darn good at Reelfoot.  As the temps warm, the fishing will get even better. You may want to book now for a crappie adventure of your own.

Other news-Records are falling. Road Runners, Slab-Daddy Jigs and hooks are flying out of our warehouse. Despite the economy, weather and the cheap knock-offs on the market, the season is off to a great start. Thank you for fishing with us!

Crappie NOW magazine has won rave reviews from other writers to readers. Even advertisers contacted us before we had our rate card ready. Your support has been well, tremendous. Thank you all.

The Crappiemasters Alabama Championship is next week. Over 70 teams will compete for a pile of money. They’ll be fishing for seven fish a day that will weigh over 17 pounds! Stories and photos will follow.

Blessings, -TJ
