One of the world’s leading experts on fishing-tackle design, T.J. Stallings acquired a deep interest in sportfishing while working as a youngster in Tim’s Tackle Box, a popular hangout for Florida anglers his father established in 1971 to sell jigs he designed and made himself. Before he was a teenager, T.J. was tying jigs, building custom rods and studying fish behavior. His in-depth knowledge of fishing led to positions with big-name tackle companies such as Shimano, Bass-Assassin and Hildebrandt. He currently works as Director of Marketing for TTI Blakemore Fishing Group, which utilized his concepts for Daiichi Bleeding Bait, hooks. Stallings is also the co-founder of Crappie NOW Magazine. He and wife Doreen have three beautiful daughters and four grandchildren. T.J. still studies photography, biology and the mystery of the band Metallica.
“I’m truly blessed to be born in the USA, taught how to fish at an early age and raised by a loving family,” he says proudly.

TJ –
I sure miss seeing you at Ed Iman’s Fish Camp! Ed gave me some of the product you provided this year. I’ll be giving it away during our Christmas Gift Giveaway show that will air on 14 radio station in Washington, Idaho and Oregon next week, and will make it a point to promote the fine lures and hooks from TTI Blakemore when I do.
I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!

Hello TJ,
While looking up crappie tips, I noticed your name.
Good to see you are still in the fishing business!
I miss Tim’s Tackle Box. The shop was well stocked and
I’ve had reels fixed there on several occasions.
Your shop was my “favorite toy store” !
Joe

Thanks Joe. It is always a pleasure to hear from my old Tim’s Tackle Box friends. Brother Ron works with me here at Road Runner too. I sure miss those Lake Harney crappie.
BTW- Be sure to check out http://www.crappieNOW.com magazine. It is the only monthly crappie publication and also features weekly news or videos on Facebook.
Thanks Mr Stallings. I had complained to Mr. Stallings on another site a couple weeks ago about the lack of Roadrunners being stocked in our local Wal-mart. Went to the local Wal-mart in our small town to get some items and gas went by the tackle dept. I walked down the aisles looking at the new tackle and noticed a very large display of Blakemore lures of which I had never seen before. Not bad prices either in 1/32,1/16 and 1/8 oz even the pro Roadrunners sizes. In the past if you did’nt get your Roadrunners the 1st of March, you missed out. Now we have a great selection. No wonder you have such a great company(blakemore). Thanks again for the great selection in our store. Thanks again Mr Stallings. (blakemore)
Jackie,
Thank you for your kind words. But we can take little credit for the better selection. Kudos should go to Wal-Mart for expanding their tackle department. We were blessed to be part of that expansion. Don’t be surprised to see Wal-Mart improving the fishing department even more. Thank you for your support Jackie. Good fishing, -TJ
TJ, I was at my local Academy store to resupply my rod floaters because my old ones finally wore out after 4 years on my spincast rods and they no longer have them! What in the world? Not only am I a faithful user of them but all my buddies are too but the man at the store said they were clearanced out. He thought it might be because they plan to put in a replacement product but I really don’t want to buy them from anyone else but tti blakemore because you have my favorite lures and accessories. I guess I’ll just have to whip out the old credit card and get them from one of the big catalogs. Even fishing clubs were getting them at Academy so I’m at a loss to know why they stopped selling them.
Thanks, Janson
Janson,
I’m sorry to hear your favorite store stopped selling them. I found them on both Cabela’s and the Bass Pro Shops on-line stores though. We appreciate your support.
TJ, I stopped by your posts here to see if you made a comment back to me and thank you for it. I found rod floaters also inside the big bass pro store we have less than a half hour drive away. Some of my buddies went to pipe insulation for a while but it looks sloppy on rods and theyre back to using the floaters now. I have used them for so long I would feel naked without them and they have more than payed off by saving 2 of my spincasts and 1 pricey baitcast over 8 years time. Thank you guys.
Janson
Cool. Good fishing Janson.
